These pages help students understand the concepts of primary active transport and secondary active transport.

1. Primary Active Transport: This page has a comic-strip-style diagram to help explain basic active transport: a calcium ion transporter that uses ATP to move calcium against its concentration gradient..
2. Sodium Potassium Pump: This page has a diagram to help students understand that basics of the sodium potassium pump.
3. Secondary Active Transport: This page features the glucose/sodium symport and really highlights how a molecule is moved against its concentration gradient without using ATP directly.
This topic is usually introduced in the cell transport unit of biology class.
